We're a community of alumni, parents, and neighbors who believe that what happens around the game matters as much as what happens on the field. Below are answers to the questions we hear most often about who we are, where your donations go, and how you can get involved.
We help young men in the City High football program build community and connection, from fifth grade through twelfth. We do that four ways: meals, access to training, mentorship, and rides to practice.
No. That's the job of the school district and the Little Hawks Booster Club. We stick to food, training, mentorship, and ride sharing — and we're careful not to duplicate what other groups already do.
Yes. The Legacy Club holds no money of its own. Every gift is held by the ICCSD Foundation, an established 501(c)(3) nonprofit that keeps fiduciary control of the accounts and handles all accounting and disbursement. In other words, an independent, professionally run organization safeguards every dollar. Your contribution is tax-deductible through the Foundation.
Each program has its own dedicated fund with a named person who authorizes its spending, so a gift you make to one purpose stays with that purpose and can't be moved to another. That keeps every program protected — even as volunteers come and go.
There's also a general fund for gifts that aren't tied to a specific program. It gives the Club flexibility, covering unexpected needs, filling small gaps in the core programs, or seeding new ideas, and it's the best place for a donation if you simply want to support the mission wherever it's needed most. To keep it accountable, spending from the general fund requires the agreement of three board members — Ryan Majerus, Tim Carty, and Calvin Davis — rather than any one person, working alongside the football program and advisory board.
A seven-member volunteer advisory board, made up of City High alumni and current football parents, oversees the Club as a whole.
Our 2026-27 funding year begins August 1. Four core programs come first, in this order. We fully fund the core before spending on anything else. See the table below for core programs and 2026-27 program executors.
Because every fund is designated for a specific purpose, money is never returned to individuals or handed to any one person. If a program raises more than it needs or is wound down, the board — together with the Foundation — moves those funds to the next priority or a related program. Your gift always stays within the Club's mission.
No. We don't fund equipment, uniforms, or facilities, and we don't run concessions or stadium events. Our work is meals, training access, mentorship, and rides. We coordinate with the Booster Club so the two efforts stay out of each other's way, and a stronger program brings more fans to games, which helps the Booster Club support every City High sport.
No. Stronger Together serves the entire school and every student. Ours is operational, football-centered, and much narrower. We want Stronger Together 2.0 to succeed and are prepared to help it do so.
Every year we'll publish our priorities and budget up front, share who's on the board, and report what we raised and spent. We'll keep the school and other groups informed along the way.
Give or become a member. Recurring members keep the Legacy Club sustainable. Every gift is tax-deductible.
Help with rides. We drive kids to practice and workouts, and the need keeps growing. We're building a real system and could use hands.
Come to a family tailgate. Football, band, and cheer families are all invited — a great way to meet the community.
