To form men who are empathic, high-character, competitive, academically accomplished, and multi-sport athletes.
Only 5-10% of high school boys play football at City High. Half of all students live below the poverty line. And there is no organized structure of mentorship and community for our young men–while we all fight an escalating male loneliness epidemic in our society.
City Football Legacy Club is a community-funded initiative built around City High football—using the sport as a pipeline, a platform, and a proving ground for young men across the Iowa City school system. Our vision is to build, inspire, and root our diverse group of young men in community … and mold them into empathetic, high-character, competitive, academically-accomplished, and multi-sport athletes.
