To form men who are empathic, high-character, competitive, academically accomplished, and multi-sport athletes.
City High serves an incredibly diverse student body, and while strong programs already support these students in many ways, no single group can reach every young man. Participation in football — a sport built around teamwork, discipline, and belonging — has fallen to a critical low, just as a broader cultural tide of male isolation and technology pulls boys further apart. Some of these young men can slip through the gaps between good programs, right when connection matters most.
City Football Legacy Club is a community-funded initiative built around City High football — using the sport as a pipeline, a platform, and a proving ground to draw young men across the Iowa City school system into a community that supports them.
We meet them with food, training, mentorship, and connection, and help mold them into empathetic, high-character, competitive, and academically-accomplished athletes who show up for each other on and off the field.
